These decorative hand carved trays are crafted from fallen cedar trees sourced in the Hudson Valley. Made in small batches, these trays are each unique, formed around the natural characteristics of the tree. The trays are then burnt in the Japanese style of yakisugi, (also known as shou sugi ban) creating the black patina and preserving the wood from decay. Trays are additionally sealed to preserve and protect against liquid.
Trays are approximately 48 x 6-9" wide but vary slightly by piece. If specific dimensions are needed, custom sizes are made upon request.
